We have a windoze LAN and it has restrictions on internet usage.
I get around this by booting the windoze box off a Knoppix 3.3 CD. I then seem to be able to surf unrestricted, as long as the firewall doesn't have the ports blocked.
I have never used Netwatcher so I don't know if it will effect Knoppix?

i don't try to bypass any school network, i have a small lan (8 computers) in my block (building), don't want to harm people or destroy their data (thought i plan to "install" s7) i just want to be invisible sometimes, because, let's say i'm older.
P.S.: we all have win xp installed....any "problems"? (my opinion: in 98se was easier to do some things in a lan, xp does all the work and i don't like that)
Personally, I like to be invisible on the company LAN for the simple reason that it's my system that contains the most critical information for the entire division. Only the local MIS and Corporate MIS have direct access to my system, otherwise to other people, I don't exist on the network and it's a "standalone" station.
G, so u pretty much want to install S7 and download porn? Look...wrong website man. Is that your computer? If it isnt, you have no right to install ****, especially trojans.

1. Who owns the network
2. What are your terms and conditions of usage
3. Who are you really afraid of? "I am older"...so not skiddies?
I do not think that he wants to install SubSeven.........I guess that is a bit of an English difference?
Maybe I am too "slack" for this forum, and should go back to a *nix OS :cool:

He doesn't want to do harm, he just wants to install a trojan in one of the computers. Perhaps he's trying to play a prank or impress his buddies on his l33t skills. Either way, I doubt he has the permision to install anything on the computers, Especially trojans. Nihil, it could be a language thing too, but i'm not sure to what else s7 could reffer to other than sub seven.Quote:

LOL. Indeed Sub7 has become so obsolete. We can use it as a way of measuring someone's IT intellect or age by the way they talk about sub7.

(anyway, why is the porn the big discution? 6 from 8 computers in my network have share on porno stuff.....i don't understand the thing with porn.....you have any sexual problems?.....i really must repeat every time that mp3, porn...etc are not the problem?)
and, yes, the s7 is living, in fact i'm proud that s7 was made by romanians (because myself i'm romanian). And if you thinh that "installing" s7 in a network where every pc has norton anti-virus and mcafee, you're so wrong. You think that if i binf the server with someting the AV programs doesn't detect him?! i can say that now i'm "working" to a version of the s7 server (i split the server in files from 5KB-100KB, every file is scaned, etc...etc...when you get the optimal size that AV programs detect the trojan code (signatrue), you know that is the samllest size of code that the AV recognize, then must be modified,....etc kinna complex, i don't want to give more details)
i ask how can i be undetected, maybe someone really smart knows. (...and because the network administration is not my passion/job, and i don't have the time to be "slow")
