Hi
Nothing is 100% safe when you are on Internet. this dosen't mean that you should serve every thing on a plate. you should employ every security measure you can. yes it is definately possible for crackers/hackers to find files hidden on your computer/server and break your password protected server, there are many brute force programs for the same. mate if you really don't know english i would suggest you should join some german security fourm.
Good Luck
This was what i posted sorry if it translated to something else. i just know a bit of German and used Google Language translator and it's his fault :). Agreed Antionline is for everyone but if de dose'nt know english it would be best for him to join a german fourm as most of the threads here are in english and he would not be able to make use of them . I don't wanted to offend non english speaking people english is not my first language either (as you can see from the spelling and the grammer:)). Sorry it is off topic i thaught a clarification was necessary. i am new here so don't know the rules yetQuote:
Its not nice to tell someone to go to anothe forums just because its not in your native language. AO is for everyone.
Rule #4143.51b: People of all race, gender, sex, religion, native tounge, and OS are welcome here.
that should be rule number 1 you mede it 4143.51 th:). but you should know at least a bit of english poo otherwise what is the purpose you. now this guy if he really can't understand english he would not be able to communicate what he really is trying to say. consider this very situation he is trying to show a nice ass and ask something about securing his web site. there are many topics and tutorials on the same subject (not the ass you silly j/k) that would have been very helpful. thats why i suggested that he should join any fourm in a language he is faminior with.
just my openion
Hey Hey,
I think there's a fine line to walk here. I personally think that if you aren't going to post in english you should go elsewhere. I've seen users flamed in the past for posting in their native language. I think this case is just different because many people here know the german language.
My opinion is that if you can't post in english (even if it's bad english, and there's been a lot of those), you prolly shouldn't post at all. There are translation services you could use to post your response in English. However if you are using a computer, there's a good chance you know the English language. Regardless of what anyone tells you, the language of computers is English.... (I know... I know... it's really binary... but you know what I mean). The majority of software is written in English, programming languages for the most part utilize the English language. It's the language of business, and a language spoken around the world. If I went to a German forum, or a Japanese forum, and posted in English when everything else was in their native language, I'd most likely be flamed. If you open the forums up and say hey post in any language, you are asking for chaos and havoc. I personally feel that this is something that a rule should be laid down on. Especially considering this is a business venture on JupM's part, allowing for multilingual posting is only going to cause problems. Why would I buy advertising if only a select number of people are going to understand it. Now it's not a breakdown of how many users a site has. It's a breakdown of how many users speak this language, how many users speak that language. Which means a lot more work and effort on their part. If you want to allow people to post in other languages, then create a multilingual security forum (If you don't speak english post here, you may or may not get a reply... that type thing.) However, having the main page cluttered with posts that are non-English is a horrible thing.
Peace,
HT
Why is it a horrible thing? Should we not offer friendship and advice to those who are not American or English? English is certainly not a language you can just *pick up*. If someone has a question that is not in English, then I will still help them.
Why? Because knowledge shouldn't be limited to what is easiest for the majority.
