Yeah from what I've heard, it screws up people who have to get a license to use amature radios to broadcast/recieve over the world/state/city. There is probably a community of these people similar to how we have communities on the Internet. I think that this Broadband over PowerLines piggybacks on this radio wave (or a similar one), and can create interference. It is hotly protested since the people who use these radios have to undergo certification and buying sensitive equipment to be able to use it. The equipment is very sensitive to interference, and suddenly everyone's Internet messes with their radio space for a tiny monthly fee...no fun for them. It breaks their community, while others get broadband radio. It also potentially messes up those who use this broadband radio since the radiowaves are shared, and create inteference similar to 802.11 networks on similar channels.Quote:

I saw alot of bad press report about this technology. I cannot find back the source but I was saying that running data over power grid might do stop radio frequency to stop working proprebly.
