MY sister just got one of those. She passed out from the pain while she was getting inked. Now she's been standing up straight and never bending over at a family function in order to hide it from the grandparents...Quote:

I LOVE that this legislation got proposed...
Why? One might very well ask of any red-blooded american heterosexual male.
Easy, number 1, I don't live there.
and Number 2, it gave me another reason to harrass my sister about the fact that I can always see her undergarments, which is gross on so many levels for me, she's 7 years younger than me and she's my sister.
It's even worse when her friends come over..., blech. I have to retreat to my computer because I feel like a lecherous old man.
Really though, laws like that are rediculous. Do we really want our government treating us like we're in highschool?
"Excuse me miss, your skirt does not reach your finger-tips."
"Sir, that profanity on your t-shirt is inexcusable, turn it inside out this instant. I don't care if it is a political statement about freedom of speech, we have a dress-code you know."
Oi.
Dhej
ok i guess what i was asking was not if you like naked girlies and hate hairy asses but if a community should be responsible for its own moral standards or should this be federally regulated....like computer surfing in libraries is. and if so should there be a limit on what they can do within their own community?
DHEJ, so you think that gay men wearing leather pants with the cheeks of their ass sticking out threw holes cut in them walking around is ok (as long as they shave it) or that the janet jackson look of one breast hanging out is fine in public because they shouldn't be treated like their in high school? im just kidding i know you dont think that, or maybe you do i dont know but shouldn't there be standards that we can all live with? and if some act like they are still in high school trying to see how much they can get away with shouldn't they be treated as such? i mean this is a country, like most today, of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. Shouldnt we be respecting each other? Some of us have more control over our emotions and sexuallity than others. does that mean that the people with less control should lock themselves away so that a few can dress goofy and if so what is the standard for emotional control?
There are community standards, and “no” the federal government should not regulate it. This was a local state court wasn't it? State vs. Federal? But there are community standards. When I see someone with pants just above their honey pot, or a lacy blue thong strapped around their waste I think "Dirty Slut needs a spanking" therefore I am enacting a standard. :) The problem is, they aren't running around naked, and how the hell do you enforce a panty standard, without getting into your own sexual misconduct. For instance: "Mam, you seem to have a thong sticking out of your buttocks." "What are you doing staring at my ass, hey you are undressing me with your eyes. Help! I am being eye raped" I use that as an example because "undressing female coworkers with one's eyes is, believe it or not, a justification or a test for sexual harassment. Off course this goes off a bit off the deep end and is meant to be taken somewhat seriously while introducing a comic element. So does thinking society can actual grasp the concept that a large majority of appeasing laws are not enforceable. Heck if I bend over you can see my Haynes tag, so what would you do? Measure the amount of exposure. A better served ability would be to just convince people to utter, slut puppy, under their breath. And seriously, how many people are actually offended by it in reality? 1/8th? 1/16? Who knows, not sure a Thong Exposure study would ever be granted. ;)
KA-CHING!! $500.00 Please. :DQuote:

I suppose that each persons views of this subject will depend on their up-bringing and/or the particular social theatre they reside in. I for one do not have any problem with (what I term as) an attractive woman wearing G-String undies or Thong Bathing attire. I do not, on the other hand; want to see any un-attractive humans flaunting their stuff. I probably sound a bit prejudiced in my statement, but any human should agree that a thing of beauty is glorious to behold.
As for the main topic Tedob1 brought to our attention, I think that this is a good first step at addressing an issue that has been around a very long time... Plumber's Butt :flash:
Ok to be serious the thing is that dress code changes with time, culture and enviroment. What may be a big deal to one groupe at one time is normal for others. For example if you take the cultural example of the jewish and muslim communities you should not be able to see a womans hair. Should the members of those communities be able to have a law passed forcing all women to wear veils. We may also take the example of the dress code of the 19 century. low cut dresses were quite acceptable but if a lady showed here ankles in public then it was a scandel.
My personnel feeling is that it will go the same way as the fashion of exposing navels. As long as it is shocking and creating comments it will be popular. When people have seen enought and it no longer causes the same reaction fashion will move on to something else.
Good point, I remember the social "Taboo" in my Norman Rockwell-esq. small town was. GASP! Men wearing little diamond studded ear rings. One ear meant you were gay, the other meant you were straight, just making a fashion statement. Now who gets offended by a stupid piece of metal, and who even knows at one time in my part of the world the ear you wore it in determined your sexual persuasion? The climate has changed, and in this case drastically.
Sure. Look at bathing suits:Quote:

100 years ago, they were full-body coverings with long arms and legs.
Now, Women wear bikinis, men wear speedos, and nude beaches are prevalent throughout the world.
I agree with you guys. However in all fairness we should look at the opposite view for a moment. Now, if I am walking down a public street. Why should I be subjected to looking at your hind-end protruding from your pants? Especially those people who have no business wearing low-riders, ie big hairy ***. For that matter don't we need a similar law for Spandex? I shudder at the spandex displays I have seen of jiggling cellulite jogging down the street.Quote:
