If I remember right Darkes it wasnt even Le Pen that brought that up. He would have been quite happy to intern every illegal immigrant in France in that camp so they all could have ran across to England. Just as long as they didnt stay in France he would have been content. As far as I remember he only made comments about it on the public safety front.

MURACU, yes you are probably right, but as far as I recall it was Le Pen that caused the issue to be reported in the British press two or so years ago, which has eventually caused the UK (and the French) government to alter its policy on the matter.
Like most people here I'm not opposed to immigration or asylum seekers, as long as it is kept legal and on a sensible scale. So over here I think that will mean the BNP will go into serious decline, as by focusing on the immigration issue they got a lot of support from people who thought the policy of the UK government was wrong.

MURACU sounds like you got a point there. if he is such a smart guy he could have arranged the garbage throwing to happen. the more publicity you get the more followers you find. with all the kooks running around it’s hard to understand people coming together to protest the presence of another one. as i understand it, from news and such, france right now is 20% muslim. that’s far more than the us is spanish or afro-american. now in the us that’s desirable, you know let people from all walks come together here and build a nation...tired, weak, huddled masses, you know. and it seems more other nations are down for mass migration as well.
now is la pen just a very old school french patriot. france for the french. ya know they never included that huddling masses thing in their charter even though they built the statue. but there is nothing that says france has to be for anyone else but...in fact they hardly ever are. or is he a far greater threat than your average old school rabble rouser.
saying aids victims are like lepers and should be treated as such is about the dumbest thing ive heard (read) him say. that’s the fastest way NOT to wipe aids out as victims go into hiding. not going for testing for fear of exposure if positive.
the holocaust is indeed a fact of history. beyond that it’s a matter of perception. being polish i have to remember that the camps were also filled with polish catholics
but this purity of race thing rings very sour. especially combined with the other two. Does he desire to be another Hitler?

From his point of view the good thing is he doesn’t need to organise thrash throwing. He knows full well that all he needs to do it publicise the fact he is holding a rally or going to be present for something like in England and his opposition will do his work for him.
I would not really put him in with the old school politics. His beliefs are not fully what you could call nationalist. For example my faovrite quote from him is about the 1998 football world cup (soccer). “France is not the world champions as they were no French players on the team.” He believes, as far I can tell, in a France that is homogenised. It may not be in the same way as the Nazi regime in Germany but close. He promotes racial and nationalist hatred.
The main reason he is dangerous in my opinion is he plays politics by his own rules. He knows that he has very little chance of being elected so he is not worried by the public relations side of things. That is one of the reason a televised debate with Le Pen is the worst nightmare of any main stream politician during the elections, be they of the right or the left. Everyone expects him not to follow the rules so he uses that to his advantage.
Now he tends to run in elections where his party has no real candidate or no real chance. He then turns it into a publicity circus for the FN. He knows he had his political high point when he got through to the second round of the presidential elections a couple of years back. He was as surprised as everyone else by that.It will be interesting to see what happens when he is no longer at the head of the party.
