I was just thinking of something that happened to me yesterday. Have you checked for virus/worms? Even if you have a local one, perhaps giving http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ might help. I found a couple of worms yesterday on my system eventhough my Symantec was uptodate and ran full system checks each night.

I didn't even know about this... I think that was the problem. Only time will tell. However, I have disabled it. What is odd is that this only started up a few weeks ago. Why would it sit idle, or how could it be enabled without my doing so? I will post any additional events.
Thanks so much for all your help! This is a friendly and helpful board.

Alderon: you say you have McAfee Firewall running. Is it configured properly?
You also say it keeps returning after you've deleted it. Did you switch off Windows File Protection before you deleted it? This might be the reason the file keeps returning.
If you still have the exe (and it's not to big) zip it and post it here. I or someone else may be able to take it apart to see what it does.

Apparently my ignorance and Messenger Service was the problem... though I don't know how it got turned on. Problem solved. Thanks again everyone for your help and input! :)
