yeah I was looking at the specs for a dell dimension - I shall be pointing the owner in the direction of crucial anyway (either that or going to a computer fair over the bank holiday - can think of better ways to spend my time though) - no worries about buying the RAM though - quite used to doing it for myself - but the advice is good for anyone else reading this (take note peeps!)
I'm going to d/l belarc or similar (looks towards cybrds post) later and see exactly what is in the box before I make any recommendations - just gotta get the thing clean first (further scans have revealed quite a number of other nasties including but not limited to wintoolsB).
Incidentally... nice bottle of wine there - apart from a couple of german whites which I'm saving I finished the last of my reds last night.... thankfully the shopping is being delivered tomorrow :D
