Well, I still come to AO and post in any forum where I can help someone regardless of whether I have 11 green dots or not. APs stopped bothering me when I had about 6 of them, the only thing that annoyed me was people abusing the system to leave stupid messages and trying to form AP alliances.
I guess now I have 11 green dots and have been here nearly three years I have nothing left to prove. :)

Looking at it from this direction (only some greens), it makes sense to me. 11 greens = 1 Yellow. Why not continue the progression? That should be pretty easy to implement. I don't know if there would ever have to be a ceiling on it either.
However, I would really be concern about the negging power you might have if you had say 4 yellows! :eek: oly **** man! You might have the power to ban someone on your own and probably knock them offline as well! :D So that might need consideration, maybe it would take 2-3 of you to ban someone by APs.
But then again, you folks that have been here a long time and have mega greens, lead AO. I know I trust you to exercise prudent judgement. (Don't want to get to close to Moxnix's dog spanking though!)

Yeah Yeah, but still, not everybody feels like you, some member left because they got bored here, some got banned because they started sh!7 because they got bored with AO. I think it would spice thing up a bit, and it would give us some reason to post better posts for.
I was thinking more like, lets say if you cross 4,000 AP's or whatever, you get one blue dot. Then every 500 AP's after that you get another blue dot, and another....Quote:

That would equal for example: 8,000 AP's. Seniors can have that power with green dots too.Quote:

and I aint even that high on the top10 list - so even if this was implemented those people in like the top3 ap earners would prolly already hit the max for blue dots - lol

no j/k, If the admins do implement it, dont tell us how many AP's you selected for each dots, so we dont know how many AP's someone has....;)
Well, they could always make a really long chain for example:
1.) 11 green dots
2.) 11 blue dots
3.) 11 yellow dots
4.) Non-paying Moderator :p
And the amount for each dot increases each time for example
1st blue dot=500 2nd blue dot=600 3rd blue dot=700 etc.
If someone can get all of those APs then you'll have at least 2,000 APs maybe more. Now that would bring a challange to the seniors and everyone else. That way those GIFs might only be GIFs but not ranked up.
Which brings me to my next point. They might just be GIFs but the more you have the more respected you are in the AO community. So to us who don't have 11 green dots we want to earn your respect by posting quality posts (as we try to do). So don't just say their just GIFs (which in fact they are but they mean more).
I'd just say , reward the loyal users and don't take ap's nor postcount into consideration.
I think the 3 year - line is a very good thing to reward with a custom rank or the dots-proposals.
And to weed out non-active-over-3-year users, the users who would pass the 3 year membership should pm an admin or mod to ask their reward. So finally there should be a real difference ...

With regards to the negging power of APs, I think once you get say 2,000 APs that should be when your assignments stop increasing. So for example you assign 1 AP per 100 of your own, to a maximum of 20. That way, the seniors can keep increasing their APs whilst never getting to the stage where one of them alone can ban a member. Or the other way to do it is to divide the number of negs you need to be banned by say 5 and make that the maximum, then at LEAST 5 11 dot people would have to neg you before you went down.
As for the extra dots, I'm fairly sure some people here have over 8,000 APs, so you'd have to have yellow ones earned for every 500 or so extra to make it worthwhile.
Heh, I just think that we should have SOMETHING (ANYTHING, really) after the 11 dot's. Maybe for every 5,000 AP's, one blue dot (gold dot? whatever color dot?). Then from so on and so forth. Just my $0.02.
