Well jokes and giggles aside, I wonder if this is the issue a student contacted me about. While his logs aren't as detailed as yours he seemed to be indicating that he was being attacked under the same services as you and from the same ISPs as you.
Perhaps there is something going on? What are the odds eh?

I'd say that if he saw a huge brute force attempt against an FTP server then the odds definitely come in that some new skiddie tool hit the "market"..... While we a physically quite close our address blocks are probably quite a ways away from each other.Quote:

Whatever it is, if it gets popular the the most likey consequence of wide use is the internet coming down because of the traffic..... ;) It's far, far, far from subtle. It'll scare the living daylights out of some people though.
I'm leaving it for now, my stomach still hurts from laffing..... But I'll scoot through the logs looking for those IP's on Monday and see if they came before or after this event. If they did I might maon to the ISP's but I rarely get much joy from that - especially the bigger ones, they are probably getting 1000 reports a day.

I have seen a hell of a lot of attacks on my servers from wanadoo (nl and fr) and also from planet (nl)
IMHO planet is a lousy ISP and so is wanadoo (was a cusomer of both once)
I do think the ip's are zombies, drones to a scriptkiddie . . .
