And as far as it goes with the AUP and swearing, I really don't care about either. There has been a big push recently for people and their postings to live by the AUP and a few bannings. I've even seen people arguing about our 'underaged users' and 'being offended'. If they're going to hold it up then I'd like to see it done evenly. I'll gladly give up calling certain people f**ktards if that happens.
On a related note I kind of wonder about the language being prohibited in the AUP, but when you hide your posts there is a message about the language being 'less than family friendly'. It kind of makes it sound like as long as you hide it, then it's ok. Kind of odd.....
Yeah, I noticed that too. With that whole "avatar ordeal", member's are now being a little more iffy about being sure they comply with the AUP. I swear and it's a habit. I try to limit it, but it'll happen. I doubt I'll be banned for merely swearing every so often (and if I do, shame on JUPM) but hey.Quote:

Generally, that part of the AUP isn't strictly enforced. Nobody's going to complain if from time to time you swear. If it's really getting out of hand, you'll probably get a PM asking you to hide the post. Sometimes, a "younger" member will report a post because of a flood in cuss words, and I generally try to handle it with a PM asking to make the post hidden. If the post isn't on the front page or isn't on the first page of a forum anymore, I'll usually let it slip.
The majority of users are understanding, and don't make a big deal out of it.
But sometimes there are members who not only refuse to comply, but make matters even worse.
If you're asked nicely to hide a post of yours, you have two options:
- You're understanding, don't make a big deal out of it, and hide your post.
- You don't agree, and refuse. If you give me a good enough reason, I'll probably be inclined to let it slip.
If you don't agree AND make things even worse, that's when there is a problem. If you're asked to edit a post by deleting some cuss words and you refuse AND on top of that you add 20 cuss words, raise the font size and tell me to get lost or whatever, that's when I'll refer to that dreaded AUP and enforce it. Call it my stick behind the door. And that's exactly what happened with the last series of banning (although I wasn't the one enforcing it this time)...

Maybe someone over reacted towards a post that was really dumb but I couldn't give two shits about what others think. To hell with entertaining a bunch of chumps. BUT; I feel SO much better now than before.
Old job was 3 shift around the clock, call outs AND overtime, meaning I was out EVERY W/End.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous--yes.
The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and proceeded to pour the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your walk with GOD, your family, your partner, your health, your children, your friends, your favourite passions--things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full."
