Yes, they do, or at least they can..............I am afraid that I have lost contact with my experts (they were sonar chappies, and that subsidiary got sold)........
As I recall it is not sound volume..........like what we hear.............it is ultra low frequency resonance, and an unshielded subwoofer can give out quite a bit. We don't hear it..............so it isn't bass, like Gore was mentioning....that is within the audible spectrum. Because we don't hear it, ordinary commercial stuff doesn't shield it........you need high end/military stuff for that. An idea might be to put your sub woofer on a rubber mat, like out of a car, and raise your box off the floor.
Try searching for resonance, ultra low frequency and stuff..............I will see if I can make contact with any of these guys.
I vaguely recollect that Undertaker has come across it as well?
