Thanks mjk, but I don't have any domain controller. I thought it could work since XP and 2003 server are the same family. I also tried a solution from MS for repairing XP network --which didn't address specifically this ping issue though-- with no success.
I need to say that after repairing XP installation, everything was fine. As soon as I applied SP1, the problem came back. I will definitely do a fresh install some day. For now, it's not that big of an issue. Just a bit irritating. But, as you said, I want to know why is it doing that.Quote:

Or you could just ignore it. Doesn't seem like it's THAT big of a problem. :) But I guess that would just be taking the easy way out and you wouldn't learn anything.
