oh yea muert0....the IBM one....is well...black...haha thats all....its black and it's like a pen so that you can clip it onto your shirt or whatever...it also have a keychain ring.......and....it has "IBM" on the clip in blue....and made in Taiwan......wait i just found some numbers...eh....its.... 1411A201849......dont know if any of that helps...but thats..the memory key....thanks

Where Allenb1963 and myself are coming from is we are trying to find out if it is the general USB settings on your box, or these particular devices that are causing the problem.
That test with other USB devices would be very useful.
Just a thought, could you boot from these devices if they were attached when you booted? if so, they certainly have their own software that must be loaded first, without the device attached.

hm...been a while since i started this thread but i just wanted to tell everyone that i found the soulution, haha, its was pretty stupid. Inorder for me to use a usb key was to turn off my computer and then stick it in and boot it up again, anyways i searched the internet for some answers and i found out that it was because my version of windows 2000pro was service pack 3, and i need service pack 4 inorder for me to use it when my comp is on...anyways odd, never thought of it, until i went to the ibm website anyways thanks for everyone who tried to help.:)
