Neon Wizard, I would recommend researching for yourself when it comes to AV's. I'm a Norton person and I tend to have inherently jaded views about other AV products simply because I've been using Norton products for so long now. Use AO's input as a first step but don't take our word as gold. The Virus Bulletin is a good place to start comparing AV products but, I wouldn't stop there. You could try here and here as well.
Also, djscribble, it really all depends on the platform it was tested on and the product version should also be considered. Just 4 months prior to the test results you linked to, Avast did indeed perform better than AVG.
