Well.... The entire process of breaking a cipher definitely is not a quick thing.... But 128 bit WEP can be cracked in 7 seconds... After the 4 hour packet capture. ;)

Seriously though, the amount of time is also dependent on the strength of the password, isn't it?

If it is "administrator" or "password" or the manufacturer's default, it won't last long :D

just a thought

i guess the only way i can think that a password can be broken that quickly is if one uses a program like rainbowcrack -- and even then, it takes months to generate those types of libraries (not to mention the huge amount of space it takes)

My life was built on that movie, i though one day i will be leet and can crack a 128 bit pws in a minute....now my life has no meaning, i am hacker no more.....

That movie only had one good part and that was the whole Halle Berry thing :D. Other than that, Hacker's was much better ;).

Yah it would be fake if it was what you ink it is but i personally think it is just a 128 bit myself.
