Today's more popular method's are probably owned boxes and proxychain's. Those are used more frequently whereas the telephone method was "back in the day". That method is called phreaking.
SirDice: I don't know much about using pre-paid cell phone's. Care to interest me in how that work's, why, background info, link's, etc?

prepaid phones would be ideal becasue you can pick them up out of vending machiens where I live. you use the cell to dial out instead a phone line, using a "hacked" account and now you have a live connection with nothing to trace it back to you.

Just a note on using cellphones. If "they" (LEA) want to find you and once they know which provider you abused they can find the cellphone's number. Once they have the number they can do a triangulation of your signal to pinpoint your location. So you need to travel alot to keep 'm busy ;)

Er yeah.
Or you just clip the 3 prong 3.5 " jack straight into the back of your head.
It causes momentary discomfort but allows depth perception etc.
P.S god has licensed the matrix engine for his next creation !

Don't you need a GPRS package with your mobile service provider? With Vodafone in this country you can't get that on pre-payed.

Wi-Fi network abuse is definitly on the up and up. From my house, I can normaly pick up between 7 - 23 access points, in which only 2 of them use wep. I think the days of splicing a payphone in a trainstation to hack a Gibson are long over...hehe, broadband abuse is where it's at. Funny movie though....

Jinxy: No, it's something all cellphone providers are able to do. Depending on the coverage the area can be big or small. They just need to know your signal strength at atleast 3 accesspoints (is that the correct term for mobile phones?). Draw 3 circles around those points indicating the signal strength and you're dead :eek:

SirDice: i was refering to gprs not gps.Lol
Gprs=general packet radio service
Gps=Global possitioning system.

Lol I used an old siemens mobile phone wich emulated a 56k6 or ISDN modem (just under real 64Kbit speed) which allowed me to dial into a "free" internet provider ;)
That should work on a prepaid..
now let's see a prepaid 10 Euro card gets me how many hours of hacking ???
damn.. I could have done so much evil ;)
Now GPRS would be better (faster) but hell who needs that, if you know wtf you are doing ;)

Damn. My bad... TMA (Too Many Acronyms) :rolleyes:
I have an old 6210, I can use it to dialup to Internet. The speed isn't all that great (9600 baud) but all you need is some sort of terminal connection to any old 0wn3d box and off you go :D
