Geez, the poor thing looks really sick :( That much hair loss can't be indicative of good health. And the fact that it's eating cat food would indicate to me that whatever it normally eats, it can't hunt it anymore.

I love how theatrical the news report was though. They had their cameramen creeping arond bushes to make it look like a cheap horror movie rather than a news report. They must be BORED. :)

I just feel sorry for it, it's obviously sick, and I'm not sure 'waiting til it's dangerous' is all that great for the animals quality of life.

Seriously, it looks like a hyena to me..........rear quarters are higher that front quarters..........large head.......large rear jaws for cracking bones that the big cats can't handle.
They are natural foragers and scavengers, so eating "opportunity food" seems to fit in. If you are going to feed it cat food, mix it 50/50 with the small dog biscuits..............cat food is too rich........messy!
I don't think that they have that much hair anyways, so from the quality of the picture it is hard to tell the health of the animal.

That I'm aware of, we don't have hyena's in the US. However, I could be wrong, and will willingly take that back if someone knows for a fact that we do.

Yea I kinda think it looks like a Fox on meth....LOL. Im pretty anxious to find out what it accutally is though.
