Doom 3

I just have one question, how the hell did you get WOW beta. I tried my ass off to get it, I look around, went to there site, didn't see any links for apply for beta. I wanted sooooooo bad to be beta.

You play any other MMORPG'S?

I have been playing it for a couple days and it is great game. I will definetly buy it when its released here :).

Doom 3, eh? Hopefully it'll run on a GeforceFX5700LE overclocked like hell w/ 256MB.... maybe.

I tell you what though, UT2004 looks really good on it.

You think Doom3 looks good? Wait till the new Unreal Engine comes out, it makes doom look like pacman.

I'm still playing my copy of Doom95 that I bought in a thrift store
several years ago. I got a good enough imagination, I don't need
a good graphics card or a fast enough computer...

They tested a bunch of cards and their performance on Doom 3. (They did test the GeforceFX5700 Ultra - which should be similar to your card)

It does run on ok hardware as the settings have a broad range (you cannot play on the highest settings on existing hardware as no gfx cards have 512mb ram yet). I also found that performance can be increased quite a bit by editing doomconfig.cfg and bumping up "seta_image_cachemegs 20" as i have a gig to playwith i bumbed it to 256, any higher doesn't seem to make much difference if any. With an Athlon2800 1 gig of ram and a asus v9520td i can play it very nicely at 800x600 set to medium with AA off and everything else on high. Hardware makers should be subsidizing games like this;)

I have a few friends of which one guy has a rl friend that works for Blizzard. He got the four of us into the second round of beta handouts, hehe...

Except that Unreal Engine games (U3, hope it's a TON better than the crap called U2, gah! UT2K6/7/8/9/10, etc) won't be out for another 3 years or so, regardless of what they say...might as well say 2010. There's a lot coming out that's pushing the envelope. Doom 3 is easily the scariest game I've played (blasted flashlight!), Stalker: OL/S is going to provide more realistic outdoor rendering than any other game I've ever seen, and HL2 is bringing AI enhancements that nobody's seen done correctly.

well ive never played doom ( die hard quake iii fan),but i agree a game will creat a new market for 3d cards as i think there is no card which can be fuully relwease the potential of the game , except for hercules 3d prophet ,costly tooo!!!
