you dn't really HAVE to create partitions. RedHat has an option to auto partition while you're installing, and that would probably be best. But make sure you look over all partitions, as you might want to keep your music. If you have problems because of NTFS, I'd recommend buying SUSE, and then reading my tutorial. It was posted maybe yesterday? Not sure I was up a long long time and sort of forgot the day.

Wow, tx HTregz, i understand linux better now. And gore, i dont wanna spend money yet, i wanna figure some stuff out first then i'll probably buy suse, HT you said RH9 is not good, what do you guys recomend for me, easy to set-up etc....

SuSE is pretty easy to install from the FTP. You can find the FTP iso on linuxiso.org , too.

what you said .. mandrake is probably the easiest.. red hat is pretty easy too ............

they are probably the 2 easiests .... unless you get a distro that runs off cd and requires no installing :)

Ok, i am gonna install Redhat 9 first, i'll try some other distributions later,

ok, 3 minutes and the last CD is done, im off to install it now, wish me luck, if i dont post within the next 2 hours, i probably messed it up !

When i come back, HTregz, you have to tech me how to recompile the kernel so i can download music to my music drive !

How about typing swaret? It's fewer characters.. haha :)

Anyways.. Libranet is definately a good suggestion as a distro to run I love it.. The fact that it's Canadian is one of it 's best points.. :) hehe and it's debian based which is nice... VectorLinux is also nice.. It's also Canadian and it's Slackware based so you can still use swaret and slapt-get if you want.. Other than that I run SuSE and have played with many many distros.. CollegeLinux was designed with learning in mind, so it might also be a good choice.
