There's a simple philosophy here: if you can't view it with Firefox, there's NO POINT in viewing it at all.
unless that site you are trying to get at is windows update, becuase if you can't view windows update then you have more serious problems than just browser issues

Situation is evolving. I have very recently followed the creation of the V2 of a big site (5000+ members, in majority tech newbies). This V2 had been only coded with IE in mind at the begining, and the admin has finally been quickly obliged to switch to a more Mozilla compatible code when all support forums exploded under Firefox's users' complaints.
Firefox users were so numerous and active that it was impossible to forget them!
that is exactly how things are here... unfortunately our developers are 100% against supporting anything other than IE for the webapps that are used here... sometimes i wonder why they get paid more than me... then i remember that i hate coding... ;)

BTW: there is a Plug in for firfox tha allows you to open a link in IE.. The plugins are bloody handy..
As for win updates?.. whats the problem ..unless you are planning to remove IE completly..
MyIE2.. is good.. GAve it away after using Firefox on test for a month.. neither are perfect..
useing Firefox at home I have the very little cleanup of Crap each week on any of the machines.. especialy 15yo daughters..
Cheers
iirc i believe the plugin you are talking about is "Launchy" which IS very handy (and i do use firefox at home, on my 3 windows boxes, my 2 linux boxes and my OpenBSD box) so i know what you mean by it leaves very little to clean up, HOWEVER, i think that eventually the ad people are going to see that people are switching away from IE and they are also going to start to target firefox
neway, i have replaced the icons in the advand exe so that they are the same as IE if anyone wants it it is attached here (with a settings folder that will make Avant look like IE but Feel like firefox -- (to try to save ppl time if they want to use avant)

These front ends are not browsers in themselves, just frontends for the existing IE engine which is required to already be installed. So, if Myie2 displays it wrong, IE displays it wrong. Different front ends, same dll's
Right that is why I called it an overlay...
You DLL points are well taken but, does not change the fact that I have several sites including 2 of my banks that DO NOT work with MYIE2 and work with standard IE. For example, viewing old checks. Now it could be that the user agent is not reporting properly and preventing the app from displaying. Just wanted users to be aware of my experience.
Shall we have some fun and fire up a PEPSI challenge of sorts..:)
