I agree somewhat with jr05linux. I know windows better but Linux does seem to run faster.

I don't understand how you don't see the idiocy in complaining about the advertisements at AntiOnline, he posted two stupid ass threads over the same topic, therefore he is annoying. Posting one would have been less annoying, and i would have said "dude they have to be here blah blah blah" but he posted another.
To add to Er0k's post, the ads were also discussed in several threads not too long ago.

Windows can be better than linux.
As was stated in gores thread about BSD and windows, the OS is only as good as the user.
For me windows is faster than linux, I never really use linux, but from what I have run on it, windows is just as fast.

So its just an ad.. like any other ad, it try to bring the best of the product and hide the bad things.
Not necessarily so in either case - people are ignorant and don't know about the differences, plus they aren't willing to change. The reason more people use Windows is because it comes pre-installed on probably about 90% of PCs and for most people it's too much hassle to go looking for another operating system when what they have before them (which, incidentally, they have probably paid a fair amount of money for and don't want to waste) does more or less what they want.Quote:

It just depends on if the "tool" that guy needs exist on linux on a way that the user can recognise and use it...
My opinion on this matter is that if you don't want to see an ad, don't see it. The hosts file works wonders. Who cares what's in the ad if you can't see it?
