Just to add something: isn't the AP assignment thing balanced at like 75% positive and 25% negative? Somewhere in that neighborhood... It's not 50% - 50%.

i think its sad how much n00bs are worried about GIFS...aka AP's....Ap's mostly control the place....when you see someone with 14 green dots you always listen to them...and someone with 1 or 2 or even a grey dot are sometimes pushed off.....and sadly it will always remain so unless we see a renasance in our time....highly unlikely

To reach 'balance' that is to remove the 'balance' message, you only had to give out sufficient reds to get you below 96% .........................
You must have had to try REALLY hard to give out enough reds to put your 'user tends to assign' bar that close to the centre .............
Just learn to live with the damn things, they are not the be all, and end all. But they are what makes this site different, and I for one, like it just the way it is, warts and all.

IMHO he was not given any unfairly, the quality of your posts will be rewarded wih green / red AP's as people see fit........... these are AP's for Petes sake, it's not like he was denied life saving medicines ............ Therefore the texan received a pile of red because his posts were not considered worthy of getting green.

The max you can have is 11 green dots. You will listen to the person with 11 green dots because chances are that person knows wtf they're talking about?????? Just a crazy idea perhaps.
You don't pay much attention to people with 2 red dots because they must have really ****ed up somewhere to get 2 red dots to begin with...People with 1-2 red dots are rarely pushed off if they're making decent posts....I don't know where you got that Idea...If you were pushed off, perhaps some of your posts in the past were worthless?
That would be the purpose of the AP system...to RATE THAT USER'S POST...its not rocket science and even a "n00b" would be able to figure that out....
Just for the record, He is a Senior Member and you're an Addict ----> and he has one more green gif than you.
Also for the record, the AP system is a big part of the website, and it is going to be part of many discussions....so stop bitching when people talk about them. Questions do arise, and not everyone is born a genious like you. IMO the only people who say "WHO CARES" about antipoints, are the ones that care the most.

Just because a user has 11 little green ****ing dots under his name means nothing. Want an example, look at Deb (no offense sweety, I just know you from IRC ;) ), she has 11 green dots, was on the highest AP earner list and has no ****ing clue about computers other than the fine basics... dots mean **** and are just a retarded way of believing you know something when you don't have the slightest clue about computers.Quote:

As for Deb....there such a thing as abusing the AP system....and you know about it very well.

Deb didn't abuse the AP system. She simply makes intelligent posts. Whether those posts are technical or not is not really the point. Gods' Whore is simply trying to make the point that the number of AP's you have is not an accurate judge of a person's technical ability.
