Ok sorry for double posting but I have analyzed some of the issue. It does seem strange that given the size of the craft and impact trajectory, that there would be no visible evidence outside of the imact area. At the same time, given the trajectory the impact was like a huge airplane flying straight into the ground, they disentigrate on impact leaving only a large hole of blackened earth. This plane didn't skid onto a field, it hit the building dead on. The physical size of a missile necessary to produce the same impact would require a large, and fast plane to deliver. Radar was working and nothing of that magnitude is recorded. I haven't ruled other possibilities out yet but there was a flight 77 and it was reported as leaving radar in the area minutes before eye witness accounts of the plane crash. Yes it is true that there was no positive ID of the plane so if this wasn't it then where did it go? Space? Time warp? Did it launch the missile and escape patrolling fighter craft? It crashed into the Pentagon. 97 pecent probability.
\\Edit I went searching for the black boxes. They have been recovered. Both data and voice recorders have been found. So I put my probability to 99 percent. 1 percent reserved for government grand conspiracies that the black box discoveries are an orchestrated lie. But why? A missile attacking the pentagon would give the US more ammunition to wage war.

But these weapons are large, but the payload is relatively small, because they ARE so accurate, more can go into the guidance / delivery suite than into the warhead.
The Pentagon is not invulnerable to missile attacks, but it is built to withstand them.

IMO, you talking about the strengh of the pentagon, and the force in which that plane hit, with the strength of the plane being so little.
this is what would have happened, the plane would have hit with the inwards force, sucking everything inwards, as you said. however, with the plane being so weak and the walls so strong.... the explosion would have been outwards (which it was) and the plane would have crumpled (not completely destroyed) on the outside, exploded creating destruction inwards, but the force would be in an outward direction..
a missile has the same effect, except it was designed to penetrate such things like those wall...
which, if it was a missile, (no admittance or denial) did the job a plane never could.
