IMHO, most of the attacks weren't aimed at AO, but at JP. AO was just the most public way to attack him.
JP has made some enemies. I mean, look at what Brian Martin's attrition gang has to say about him. They were religious about pointing out every mistake, half-truth, and whatever else he did.
I'm not accusing him of anything, hell, I like him, but he set himself up as a target the moment he became the "hacker tracker."
Considering it's a known fact that if you go against a select group of people with the thought process they possess WILL set yourself up to be targeted by them. JP has had many allegation's (AFAIK) thrown his way and although I won't comment on whether I think they are true or not because JP know's in his heart whether or not it's true, there always could be truth to some rumors (or even a half-truth to them).
By the way, how are you doing D0pp? :D
I wasnt around for this part but acording to the book "Steal This Computer:Book 2" (the book that lead me to AO) the site acutaly used to have live statistics of hack attemps.
pretty much word for word from Steal this computer book 2 by wallace wang, no starch press.Quote:
One of thee more controversial hacker Web sites is AntiOnline, which not only provides hacker news, virus source code, and trojan horse programs, but also maintains a comprehensive profile of hackers for use by law enforcement. Naturaly Antionlines cooperation with the police has upset many hackers, many of whom retaliate by breaking into Antionlines computers ona regualr basis. In fact attempts to hack into antionline are so common that antionline now posts the latest hacker attacks, attempted hack method and hackers IP.
