ewww! i wouldn't go anywhere near swish - its fugly and all the effects are so over-used that a good flash developer will spot the canned effects a mile of!

What I sugest is you pick up a book on :=

HTML
CSS
Photoshop
Flash
Actionscripting

learn those inside and out and then you can call yourself a designer ;)
otherwise I would get a part-time job workign in a supermarket or something to earn a lil cash - am sorry but with the sheer volume of people who are now offering web-design services you need to be above the pack in order to make any money from it. And if your using Frontpage then I dont see you going anywhere with it. Sorry.......

Not bad for a first web site. my first web site made it to worst of the web. My favorite tools are:

BlueFish
Zend
PhotoShop

I do not use Flash all that much because I suck ass on it, and honestly, unless you have a VERY good reason for it, do not use it. Lastly, look to here for some inspiration:

Look around the net at webpages .. like Donkey punch said and get some good ideas of other people and how they designed their site .. just dont steal the design or take anything that is copywriten :)

well for a begginer in flash Macromedia flash seems too complicated , you should start up with swish and slowlu graduate to Macromedia FX. i would say this , indeed MAcromedia flash is too complicated

yup yup
but thankfully there aint that many good ones ;) whyich is good thing for me as its what I want to do (web/graphic design)
like atm I'm an ok designer/flash programmer but in order to get myself to a level were i would feel confident enough in my work to start doing it fulltime for cash I'm taking classes in

Graphic Design
Scripting for the WWW
Software Support
Media Authoring
Video Authoring
Design Principles
.........

and the list goes on - lol
only area I aint covering atm which I would like to is 3D rendering - but as a 10day course in Maya is like £1800 think it might need to wait a while until i start making some cash of the other things first ;)

Thanks for all of the info, i am decent in HTML, but i havent done it since my sophmore year in highschool. So i plan on sticking with HTML, however, im pretty new in it

Yeah, HTML is a neat simple language for basic webcreation. You should definitely read up on some tutorials on HTML and try to fully learn the language to the best you can. Then your website making abilities will be MUCH better.

fyrewall: I agree, I usually prefer sites that are nice, to the point, and easy to navigate.
