This is an interesting point. As an example, I sometimes give my students the ALE/SLE formulas to do. I give them a little scenario with whole numbers (that is, there will be no remainders). They all ask if they can use calculators. I say no because they should be able to do simple multiplication and long division, IMO. I was quite floored as to how difficult this was for some. Now if people cannot do some of the simple things and depend on technology so much, then that might lead me to wonder how much they depend on technology for the answer to security and forget that important weakness: humans.
