Perhaps this is related to an issue I've noticed. When doing updates it's rather slow until I remove the firewall. Then it just zips along. I'll have to fire up the ol' packet sniffer the next time I connect and see what's passing through but on the surface there seems to be a request that needs to be legitimately made that perhaps the firewall is blocking or that it doesn't like that the firewall (Sygate?) running?Quote:
I tried to install SP2 on a client's machine, but it would hang up when running the update. I would get the blue progress bar that scrolls back and forth. Well, I opened up another Window to go to another website, and as soon as I did that, update unfroze!
Tried it again...Update froze. Again, opened a second window, surfed to a different site, then went back to the first window...Update resumed.
