0x1FE has been busy again. They defaced a high school website. Part of the message they left on the defaced website roughly translates roughly to: "0x1FE is not black hat anymore. 0x1FE is a security team that occupies itself with development in IT security. No damage has been done to the system during this hack, we just helped Kennisnet [foundation that hosts the website -Guus] and the webmaster of this site. We left a text file with information regarding the hack of this site, and a way to prevent it from happening again."
Could someone explain to me how defacing a website (with possibly severe consequences for the administrators of your victim website) rhymes with 'not black hat'?

Eric's been arrested? I just heard that the (Dutch variant of a) D.A. was preparing charges. Where did you read about the arrest?
In other news, Right-extremist websites seem to have been dDoSsed as well, and fingers have been pointed at Eric de V. again (according to geenstijl.nl (dutch link))

Yeah, I read it too. Unfortunately (for them) they did break the law by breaking into Kennisnet servers. No matter what the "reason" it's still "Computervredebreuk" (Dutch law term for breaking into computers) and can result in a maximum of five years in jail if found guilty.Quote:

0x1FE is making an a$$ of themselves... they want to get rid of their "dark" reputation. Seems like they only succeeded in making it even "darker".
Five members of 0x1FE have been arrested this morning, according to this (dutch) weblog
Update: it turned out to be two arrests, not five.
I didn't get it confirmed. A really good source tells me it isn't true.
