Of course I don't have a lot of clients, but I couldn't care less, if they want my time they'll pay my time.
And never try installing something without RTFM-ing. Actually, RTFM before, during and after the install [to beat your head with the mouse if you forgot something and have to redo the whole thing :D]
well that is what windows is all about, a stand alone pc user will go for a windows rathere than bashing his head in front of a computer installing linuxQuote:

The first time I installed Linux, I got it done in a half hour and it worked the first time.
Hmmm....
The first time I installed Linux was Red Hat 4.0 without ANY kind of partitioning helper program. I used fdisk and did it the hard way. I still got it done without erasing my Windows 95 partition. It worked the first time.

The first time I installed Linux I had a tough time with the CD ROM and video drivers. Of course that was on a Cutting Edge P100. :D So you get the time line. But I had FUN doing it and it took ALL day and a 12 Pack.
I did the full install on RedHat 9, went smooth except for NIC drivers [I believe even nowadays FC has some hardware that it simply doesn't like, although other distros support it perfectly] But I was ****-scared not to delete the WinXP install [could've cost me my life :D]
I even managed to install Gentoo from stage 1 and had it working perfectly! RTFM-ing pays up...
The first one I installed was a very old version of Open Linux. After that I did an old Mandrake, then SUSE, then I stuck with Linux. Then I installed Free BSD before a lot fo this, heh. I installed Free BSD at home like, before Linux, and got too know Fdisk, and then when I installed Slackware my first time, I popped in the CD-ROM, never looked at the manual, and made an educated guess at typing setup and installed it the first time, correctly, without a manual. It's not hard, I doubt everyone has read a manual for it.
I've now written 3 tutorials with Slackware, and have yet too read how you're "supposed" too install. I've installed Gentoo twice, and the reason I won't make a tutorial, is because well, for one I don't like it, so I'm not going too have more SUSE and Slackware users switching too it for stupid ass bragging rights, and I won't because it would be too long. Doing a stage 1 tutorial would take forever, and it would be long and so I don't untill they have a better installation.
Well, not a better one, but one where you can make installation tutorials that are no 900 page long adventures heh. I've now installed over 70 OSs, and most were without a manual. Everything from DOS, to old Windows, and Linux, Solaris, BSD, and BeOS.

Never read the manual on Slack either, though I used it for a pretty long period of time.

It's nothing about bragging. I'm just learning my way up, and Gentoo so far taught me more then anything else combined. It's a matter of personal preference, indeed, but I wouldn't go about calling Gentoo users arrogant because they spent around a week installing their OS instead of 2 or 3 hours. I have yet to benchmark things comparatively between Gentoo and Slack for example, because I don't have another computer with a similar architecture to play on.
And there's no need for an install tutorial on Gentoo, there's one with the distro already, everything you need to know right there. I think Gentoo is the purest Linux distro out-there [minus maybe the portage system, but that's pure genius anyway].
But... to each Linux user their own distro of choice.
