he states that he doesn't believe abortion should be allowed. which is a harsher statement than saying 'does not advocate'. (voting for something is advocating it AFAIK.) which is why kerry's election campaign is very scarry. he's telling everyone what he believes and his supporters think he's going to act on his beliefs if elected when in reality his beliefs dont mean a dammed thing.

Keep in mind that this is the church that invalidated the communion taken but a sick child that was allergic to the standard wafer. This child's communion does not count so technically, if she dies she goes to hell because of original sin (she is ill with a good chance of dying soon [truly tragic]). This happened before and the child's parents switch to a protestant faith. It seems to me that the catholic church is extremely hypocritical and alienating its faithful. It seems that more and more are moving on. They need to change and modernizes but I do not see that happening.
Cheers,

the lawer didn't lie, he misrepresented himself. if they had know it was kerry in question they would have kept their mouths shut but the answer he was given was from the church
"I thought I was advising a student who was working on a project. I referred him to a reliable theologian on the matter. I was acting in my capacity as a theologian trying to be helpful to a young person," he told Reuters.
"I had no idea his aim was actually to build a heresy case against John Kerry or against anyone else. I feel that we have been instrumentalized," Di Noia told Reuters.
thats more like them though...ball-less bastards

Well I take a different view (surprise, surprise)
I think that we should confiscate the English language from those who persistently abuse it.
A "heretic" is one who deliberately misrepresents the word of God. Someone who merely disputes the dogma of a religious sect is only "schismatic" (to them).
The Roman Catholic Church, in common with most other Christian and non-Christian faiths, teaches "the sanctity of life" as a fundamental tenet. Abortion, euthanasia, judicial executions, warfare and so on, are sub-issues.
God gave us free will; if we wish to continue playing the game we have to accept this, AND that it applies to all others equally, no matter how repugnant we find their use of this facility?
I answer to God, not to a bloody archbishop or whatever. God's laws are revealed to us in the Scriptures. Unless the Pope makes an ex-cathedra statement to the contrary, that is the way it is. There have only been three ex-cathedra statements in the whole history of the Catholic Church. What I am saying is that the Pope may have an OPINION and so do I, and they can be different, but it is God who will decide.
Yes, I have closed my account with the Banco Ambrosia :D
Please do not over simplify the issue, I could have been aborted with the full permission of the Roman Catholic Church................b******s missed :p
If everything is black and white you are not applying any grey matter in between?

nihil, is right on in this one, until the pope condems abortion and say anyone who is not legaly agenst abortion is a haritic from the seat of St. Peter (or ex-cathedra if you prefer) all he is doing is stateing his opinion and makeing sugestions. He has also stated that catholics must fallow the laws of the land they are in (assumeing the laws are just, thats left up to the individual to decide) and that evangeilising should come as good works (ie lead by example) and not by vocaly or physicaly forceing the catholic faith/beleifes/morals down any ones throate.

Really if I was Kerry I would flip the bird at the church and go Lutheran or Anglican. Sorry if I mispelled those, in an Airport with no checker.
