hum um well i guess i can tell the hole story now um i need to use the recovery consol because what i am trying to do is to get the sam file in the repair file to be replaced with the same file in the system32\config file so that i can figure out my password i all ready know my password but i am seeing how to do it on a winXP box cuz i take some comp courses and my teacher set up a challenge to see who can find out his admin pass first and i have been working on it since fri when he gave this challeng cuz i want to hand him is password on tuesday after i go and copy the sam file on monday.
I hope i dont piss any one off for not saying this in the begining sorry just dident know how people would take it.

My system restore is always turned off b/c I'm an idiot and I manage to get worms on my computer every couple of months and then have to turn sys restore off to get rid of the damn thing....and then never remember to turn it back on... Amazingly it hasn't crashed in the year and a half that I've been (ab)using it.Quote:
