As seen as the system has only two real canadates they could just have two screens. Press the screen on your left for Kerry and on your right for Bush.

You can't do that. Even if there are other candidates and they only get 1 vote, if they have met the requirements to be a candidate, their name must appear on the ballot. I know Ralph Nader is one candidate (has 1-2% of the present vote) and I suspect there are others as well.Quote:

And the president is just ONE issue to vote on with a typical ballot. For instant our Senator is retiring so there has to be those selections. Pete Coors and Ken Salazar. Then there is a local county commssioner with a write in candidate some are going to vote for then there is an issue to raise local sales tax to build an over pass then another for new schools in high growth areas.... so I never understood WHY democrats pushed for automation they end up hating anyway. Too complicated. They could have just said, "Hey look people - just make sure that when you are done voting there aren't any chads hanging down" and then hang signs in Spanish and English to remind them again, and again, and again. :)
50 for Mayor? That's sort of polluting the local talent pool eh?
There's talent!? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...Quote:

I heard about the multiple items on the ballots. I was at a GT this weekend and a friend from Michigan was telling me about one of the propositions going on their ballots (IIRC): apparently it's to force the lotteries and casinos to submit, for consituent approval, any new games they want to run. That is, every time they issue a new type of lottery ticket or game it'd go to referendum with the populace.
We have some gambling issues as well on our ballot. It takes a lot of work to keep up on everything. A large number of dollars from the lottery and casinos goes to state owned parks, they want to change the way that money is appropriated. IMO adding more red tape, so someone must have gotten pissed off and wanted to stop something that didn't get approved. And there is another that seeks to make changes to the electoral votes. Democrats targeted swing states and managed to get crap like that on the ballot in many that are slanting republican but could go either way. Changes the core or our democratic systems effects both parties and future generations, they only care about the immediate power gains. It's ballot measure 36 so that tells you how much crap and good things are on there. :) In fact that measure gets my heart beating in anger so I have to think of cuddly puppies now. :D
Here. This might help. :D
There will not be voting sytems in California. :)

Really? I didn't know this.. I could have sworn it was the taxes and the tax payers money that did that.Quote:

cute picture Ms Mittens. I always loved puppies.
In any case while there are more than two candidates running the system remains bi-partisan. A good example are the all important debates between the candidates. I dont remember seeing Nadirs name on any of the panels

on any of the panels for the debates

. A three way debate might actually be a good thing .
Really, because I do.. he ran last year and he's running this year.Quote:
