that would rate... you normaly use a Volt meter to check the voltages.. and an ohmmeter to merasure the resistance of something..Quote:
ohmmeter check for 5V & 12 V
when were we told it was a laptop?Quote:

Why do people have to repeat what has alredy been said.. memory cpu voltages .. let voltagirl come back with her/his reply to our earlier comments before we slap ourselves around and look like tools..
2 dead on guesses based on past experience -
1 - as previously stated, check your power supply - that's the most common culprit in hardware failures of this type.
2 - if it *is* a laptop, being we weren't told either way, check the battery/power cables.
Luck to you!
I thought she said it was a laptop in her first post.Quote:

No. It seems we were told it WASN'T a laptop.Quote:
I have windows 98.When I try to boot up my pc I can't hear any beep sound or whatsoever. The light that denotes that the computer is reading the hard disk wont even lit up.I only have a power light on.The fan on the motherboard is working.I tried to connect my monitor on the other CPU and the monitor works fine. What's wrong?
Riot, my friend:
Now, have you ever tried to swap laptop monitors?Quote:
