The Aztec Empire fell on August 13 and Cortez had all the gold he wanted by of course, killing thousands of innocent people and destroying the Aztec Empire.

im sure i can find more modern examples, probably not as grande as this one but it's not really that important...on what date did non-christian people stop being persecuted in the americas? do you thing a jewish or hindu temple would have gone over large in selma alabama in 1950?
BUT the fact remains that reverse discrimination (or any kind of discrimination) is just plain un-american.
1500s is modern? OK on the big scale of things it is, but that was also the time of Witches. Henry the 8th, the early non-formal birth of the Church of England, and the renaissance.
If you look into the history of the Aztec rituals, it too is covered in blood. In fact life meant very little outside of royalty. Christianity's greatest evil is the stifling of scientific research. Their history is no more brutal or righteous than scores of Armies before them. From the atrocities of Ancient Egypt to the Roman Empire in their pre-Christian desires.
Their fault is in the isolation and greed over the control of human destiny, in the form of scientific progress and the summoning of the Dark Ages. If not for them (Christian power monger in the past) I would be living in an age equal to what technology could be in 2400 versus 2004. Wars were made in the name of Christ, but the people were not men of Christ. They used him as a tool. Like a dictator hiding behind socialism to control and subdue his people.
Christian actions in the 1500s and before are like the Muslims of today to some lesser extent. Although if Islam had the military advantage somehow, the parallel would be complete. I've always had disgust for Cortez and the assimilation of South American culture by the Spanish. The Americas and her people were no match for the science of warfare brought upon them by the nations of Europe. They try the same thing today, though not by military force. We wonder what would have happened if some nation waged war against the Holy Roman Church and today there are some nations who see the need to wage war against another Dark Age of radical god worship on the extreme. The same god only this face is Islam and not as forgiving.
There are those living in our society that preaches tolerance to one extreme while shackling freedoms of another subculture and reforming democracy to their bidding via selected judicial proceeding that undermine the will of my people. Their parallel is Adolph Hitler to me. In his speeches leading up to his power play, I see parallels... It’s almost scary. Just insert “Christian” instead of “Jew” and you have documents written by him and speeches from the 1920s that are alive today! In the form of blogs all over the internet. And I am not talking the Notsee sights. (misspelled on purpose) It is my desire to stop them. That leads me to another point, it’s not like Hitler came out of nowhere. His views were known for decades leading up to the invasion outside Germany. He was even arrested and jailed for them, yet he rose and stood unchallenged by an entire continent.
