Good news!- my insurance agent said they wont raise my rates since it wasnt my fault but, i still have to go thru the long process of getting my truck fixed or to be declared totalled. im not sure which yet. thanx yall.
Good to hear. Didnt know what planet you all live on, but here in Cali if you are not at fault for the accident, then the other guys insurance is going to pay to fix your car. (And therefore it will be his insurance rising and not yours) As long as he has insurance of course.Quote:

The problem comes up if his insurance company thinks you are partially at fault. If its enough money they may try to get your insurance company to pay part (and then your rates may go up). They will fight about it and then come to a resolution. You didnt admit any fault correct?
I admitted no fault at all and the police found me to be at no fault, as well as my insurance agency. We both have state farm insurance so for some odd reason even though i have spoken to my claims person i also have to speak to HIS claims person even though we both have state farm. weird huh? then after that they can start the repairs on my truck.
Why dont you just sod in the insurance company ring the bloke up ask if he'll give you the money to repair it so that his insurance rates dont go up??
