l3lacklce,
You should know by now that if I was trying to make a " political statement " I have no problem doing so...I don't shrink from expressing my opinion at all...and I don't run from a good argument...and I don't care how many green dots a person has...if I wanted to express a " political statement " or any other kind of statement...you'd know it !!! And what's this about concealing my stand...when have I ever tried to conceal my veiws?
If you know me as well as you think you do...then you know this was not a " political statement "...or I definitely would have no problem saying so " in no uncertain terms ".
I would have thought you'd have known that by now!
Eg
P.S. as for the pictures being gory or unpleasant...that's what war is...whether you're for or against the war. What...do you only want to see pictures of soldiers ( either side...take your pick ) petting bunny rabbits( yeh...I know it was a cat)?
And obviously you didn't read my other posts on the subject or you would have known that all I ever said was that Bush should never have gone to the UN in the first place and should have just invaded on his own ( go read the post ), and that Afghanistan should have been the main priority not Iraq ( and you can read that one next )...I never once opposed the war...but, as usual, people don't read the posts...they just say they do.
The picts were just that, picts...I stated that I was not trying to make a political statement because I knew someone would turn it into one, and I wanted to avoid that because that was not my motivation.
If I want to make a statement, political or otherwise, you'll know it!

I think I shall misquote the Bard a bit here....
"Methinks thou protesteth too much!"
- nuff said.
-
" The lady protests to much, methinks " from Hamlet...you should know by now l3lacklce I never have a secret agenda...if I don't say it, then it isn't so...I'm actually very suprised to hear this coming from you.

I dont know why the American government went in there in the first place!!!
I think it was all about ...OIL..TEXAS..and production of WEAPONS!!! and American corporations that have interest in the control of the oil in the middle east
The Bush family has many interests in these things....
I never understood why they "stirred the ****" over there
Its just making things worse!
for all of us
>RANT OVER
Personally I like the diverisity of this forum and cannot understand why people\topics get negged for posting their point of view...I didnt think you could neg the Cosmos forum.....
This is the age of information.....be open....get out of your shell and look past your borders
I do not think that egaledeist is being anti american at all...and neither am I
Its all about looking at ALL the info...not just the propaganda of fear being fed to us by our governments..media
Remember...there was a HUGE stink about the bible actually being published in English....
Isnt that what is going on here...dont let the massses know what REALLY is going on...

War is HELL .......
don't ever forget that .
But as for pix, I'd rather not see ANY.
I'd let the military go about their business without the bleeding hearts looking over thier shoulder and worrying about the 'rights' of those that are endangering OUR people.
Behind EVERY conflict there will be a political agenda, that's the way of the world.
It's the same today as it was in Vietnam / Northern Ireland / Aden / Malaya / ad infinitum
Even Alexander the Great was prone to showmanship [the Gordian Knot]
and showmanship is as much a part of politics as the manifesto.
Pax.

Listen, this is a discussion, were peoples opinions will not get judged but rather argued. Ultimately everyone has different views, if they dislike them, it would be a wrong to run to the AP system. AP's don't show a rank of knowledge; look at me. ;)
Now as for the discussion, these are American soldiers, they dream of death, they speak of such, they view as such. Watching a persons death before you is memorizing. Now quit arguing about what they handle on a day to day bases, they have hearts, but they would rather over-ride such a task for YOU Americans. I'm danged sure if you were to have sleepless nights because of war, you won't arguing. Tiger, I understand, and I thank you very much, very much so. That goes for everyone else that has, risked it all, for you all.
Its pretty sad to see a friend/family member leave, and in a few months, their eatting with there ancestors in Paradise.
Cheers

d00dz Attackin,
I agree with everything you said except that " this is a discussion, were peoples opinions will not get judged but rather argued " does not acurately convey the reasons for my rebuttal. l3lacklce was not , at this time, judging my opinion but was accusing me of having ulterior political motives for my post...not my opinion but rather my intention was under attack...and it was to that I responded...I fully expect that people are going to challenge my opinions...but my motives, or the lack of them, no one knows but me...unless someone here can legitimately claim they have ESP.
Other than that I absolutely do agree.

Why would you (and many others) show a link without it being hidden? If a young kid were to pass by and view such a dreaded picture, without understand, will cause this kid to have mixed feelings about the war. Such as "the US is killing these poor citizens." Then, this kid passes on such a link, and tells his opinions as if them being real.
Discussion is good, but pictures are misconceiving to some of no understanding.
I don't mean to sound like a "jerk," but I'm talking in general.
Cheers
