If they have Tab Browsing, I will probably go back to IE.......
HA! Just Kidding you cant take away my firefox with its cool Mouse Gestures and other needed (Habit Now) extensions!
Lol, poor webdevs... I can't wait to tell them yet an other version of the most notorious standards raping browser is to be released soon.. With it's own little set of nasty surprises for the design team..
Oh the sweet little joys work sometimes brings..
Yeah, that's sales hype. How can a browser protect your from Phishing? So far, everything I've seen has been in regards to alerting the user that the domain he's gone to is known for scams and fraud by some stupid little check mark or something. It's still a user education issue.Quote:
Gates says Internet Explorer 7 will have security features to prevent viruses, spyware, 'phishing.'
I can prevent viruses and spyware in IE now...just disable the 'usability' features such as script execution and Active-X. This is a bullshit statement emphasizing the buzzwords of the moment to rehype yet another Microsoft product.
Firefox, Safari, and Opera are no better or worse, relatively speaking, if the right configurations and options are chosen by the user...or set to default by the vendor! That has been Microsofts achilles heel up until recently, everything came out of the box with a bottle of KY and a 'Please Rape My Computer' sign.
"Oooh! A Netscape Anti-Phishing browser that uses FFox and IE engines. Woo hoo!"
Hype: just a dangerous as FUD.
the only way i am going back is if they give me $50 for every second i must tourture myself by using their lousey excuse for a browser.
Firefox overtaken or merged with Windows....not if Google has anything to do with it...they've already snactched a piece of Firefox ( even though he is still allowed to function at Firefox )...Next step for Google...browsers...cough...Firefox...don't be surprised when it happens.
Pheh, it keeps rearing its ugly head (this concept), but I've yet to hear anything that makes me want to believe it. Google has made an awesome search engine. Google labs has kicked out some other cool things too. But why does everyone assume a Google browser will be the ultimate orgasmic nirvana? Netscape/Mozilla used to be the shizzle, IIRC. But once they passed major version 4, everything went downhill. Why is Google to be any better?Quote:

um...what? it sounds to me like your insinuating that mr. Gates has purchased firefox, which is impossible because it would breach the laws of the universe and we would all implode into a fist-sized ball of matter.
edit: was replying to Egaladeist
Firefox until I die!!! The mouse gestures and tab browsing are like crack to me now. I have serious withdrawls if I don't have them.
im looking at the similar threads box and all i see are posts like 'Internet Explorer Buffer Overun' and 'Internet Explorer interfacing problem'. that to me speaks volumes.
