It is a laptop with a USB mouse plugged directly into the USB port.
This guy is very technical and is usually able to fix the problem himself.
He also owns the company I work for, so I trust what he says.
The event logs are not indicative of anything related to the problem.
I do not want to rebuild outlook out of sake for his PDA phone.
Well,
Get him to update the machine and mouse driver...and repair outlook (you dont lose settings...usually)
Check the pda vendor for issues???
I have run outta suggestions.
Technically savy enough to be dangerous!Quote:

People who own companies can ALWAYS be trusted :rolleyes:Quote:

I've run into this same issue as well. The first time it was no right-clicking as well as not letting the user open some calendar items. I had to delete the local profile folder and re-create it using the roaming profile which is a pain in the ass. It has happened again, this time just the right-click not functioning. I am not connected remotely, just sitting at the desk at the computer which is finished syncing with the exchange server. Does this have anything to do with exchange running in cached mode? Please help.

Hey,
Have you tried to disable any if all of the plugins/add-ins in Outlook.
I know it's possible and there are always a few ...
I cannot give you the directions to where you can find them (because I'm not working with Outlook 2003 right now) but I'm sure they are somewhere to be found in "options" ( :D vage I know)...
Most of the time like in Office XP they're to be found in Options --> Other --> Advanced Options --> and then something like Add-in Manager or something.
Maybe if you disable them all and then try the right-click it might work again..
Anyway just a thought.
Tell me if it worked,
C.
Well...I have 3 sites that run Outlook (various versions) with the exchange server(various versions) and have never seen this issue....which leaves me to believe it maybe some 3rd party software that interacts with outlook, such as PDA software, AV, Spam filter or something that is running...heck could even be the mouse driver
Usually when I have an issue...I either repair outlook, or recreate the profile...which usually corrects any issues.

This has only happened to one of our users. Each time, not only does the right click funcationlity go away, but if you try and open calendar items which were sent by other users, it will say Can't Open Item. Object cannot be found. (not the exact message, just what I could remember). I had to delete the user profiles both from Mail in CTRL Panel as well as from their Blackberry Desktop Connector. It may be an issue which is caused by his blackberry. Do your users have blackberries as well Fraggin?
