a basic question

shals...the only reason I can see you deleted the old thread ( that was moved to hardware from here ) and moved it back here is to get yourself on the main page ( more exposure )...the questions are , in my opinion, a very lame attempt to look like you're not up to something.

Incidently, to those who didn't see the first thread...shals was helped and his questions were answered...there was no reason to delete, move, and start a new thread asking the exact same question.

AntiOnline - a basic question

I had assumed it was deleted but apparently not...he just re-started the same thread back where it was.

If you want to get a good response, it is important to put your post in the right forum, as not everyone reads everything, and we all tend to have different areas of expertise.

To this end, moderators sometimes move a thread into a more appropriate forum.

If you find that your post has suddenly disappeared, go to the front page and click on the "view profile" option down the left hand side. Find your item in the "last 20 posts" list, double click on it and you will be taken to its new home.

As you know, I don't neg unneccessarily...I think this was intentional on his part for two reasons...

1. he asks that all replies be directed to his e-mail ( I was right in the first thread it was his e-mail...I don't normally click on any link I don't know...but I did just now )...

2. I believe he intentionally double-posted

That leads me back to the first thought I had : collecting e-mail addresses...something just strikes me the wrong way about this one...and usually that's not the case as you well know.

He's not subscribed to the other thread or the one he first posted in...that tells me he knows how to unsubscribe...which leads me to believe he knows how it works ( the difference between an unsubscribed and a subscribed thread )...

like you, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, even when I neg I'll usually neg a thread rather than the poster...but...

in this case, I certainly would not recommend anyone e-mail this guy...do Spam centres pay people for e-mail lists? I know you can buy and sell mailing lists and phone number lists...it wouldn't be a stretch to think it might work the same way with e-mails.

Can you use an e-mail address to phish or scam or use as a backdoor hack?

I'm kinda curious why someone felt the need to give him so many positive points for that question. Not like it was a really deep or thought provoking one...

Anyhow, just to be safe, I sold his email to a spammer. ;)
