Egal, I can live with the barter system. I used to brew a mean ale back in England. I am sure that would be worth some eggs to people. I have no problems working the land. :D I'll make some chickens with eggs and then you can have all ya want. I'll need a drill to take out RFID tags though. The Amish do it 24/7 they are just fine.

Hi Kthln01,
Sometimes it's to generate income and in some cases public safety.
Eg ;)
It's used as a huge source of income for DC. They have massive revenue problems because everyone from Maryland and Virginia come to work and use DC, but nobody lives there--hence no tax. People even petition to get the new ones removed all of the time, which I find hillarious. People actually get mad at laws being enforced when they break them.
Aside from that, it's all a question of how large you want Big Brother to grow. Personally, I wouldn't really have a problem with everyone in the country having an ID with a chip containing their data on it, but that's just me. No matter what you do or what degree technology goes to, there will always be ways to break the system. Fortunately, technology has actually made crime and theft more difficult by far, not less--despite what we are all lead to believe.

Generating an income of the legal system is treason.
