You seem to missing human nature and history...the United States is an Empire...like the British, French, Spainish, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Turk, Mongol, Empires before it...it is despised by many for reasons both true and false...and like ALL Empires there is a fear of losing that Empire...of enemies trying to tear it down...

the attack in Iraq was not about oil...it was about SPIN...the campaign to get OBL failed...so then Saddam became the target to divert people's attention away from the failure to get the man responsible for 9/11 ( ever since Vietnam there's been a fear of losing )...Bush needed a success story...and he thought he could duplicate what his father did and just walk through Iraq ( didn't turn out that way, did it )...

it's never about control, it's politics 101.

That's my take on the situation anyways.

Actually, even though the US gov't is opposed to Iran's nuclear ambitions (in fact opposes
all nuclear proliferation), it is Europe who have the most to lose from a nuclear Iran. If Germany,
France, The Netherlands don't care Why should I? It will be a long time before they can
threaten Richmond or Charlottesville, but Berlin, Paris, Vienna will have an AXE hanging
over their heads. You should convert to Islam now and avoid the last minute rush.
