It's an XP SP2 machine.
Lets make sure its not hardware first...did you repalce the cable???
Can you get a really long cable (I keep a spare for this) and try another wall port or move the machine??
Did you try another port on your switch\hub?
Are you on the same switch hub that the other WS are using??
Do you have any other protocols installed???
You said you tried 3 different NICs...????

The reason why I think it is hardware is because, like I said earlier, the port when bad on my integrated NIC so I put in the new NIC and that's when the problem began.
Is the other NIC still showing in device manager???
Sounds like a binding issue....
you may need to download XP SP 2....unless it was integrated with your install disk?
Go to MS downloads and use the Administrator options on the left and manually download XPSP2.....unless you have it on a disk\server somewhere
Right click your lan connection in Network connections and remove all services and protocols....write down ALL your settings\services etc before you do this!!!!!
You will may need the LOCAL ADMIN access to complete this ...so make sure you have\reset the local admin password....just incase ;)
reboot> logon...either with your account...or the local admin account
then add all the protocols, services and settings back...
reboot.
Then run the service pack...reboot and get all your updates......
May work??

How do I run the service pack from the CD?
You may want to go into the properties for your network card, either through Device Manager or Network connections. Click the Configure button and choose the Advanced tab. Under that there should be settings for Link Speed and Duplex. The are probably set to auto config or factory default. Try setting it to 100 Full Duplex and see if it is any better, if not try one of the other combinations.
No change whatthe.
How do I run the service pack from the CD?
If SP2 was integrated with the original install disk eg XP Pro with SP2...AFAIK you do not need to rerun the Service Pack again...just remove TCP\IP and reinstall.
The Service Pack code is already include in your install and the cabs.
I would check for updates though after you do this...just incase.

Did you just reinstall this machine? I think I read that in the other thread.
Are you the original one that setup the telnet connections and installed the computers? What I'm getting at is, might there be some special settings that need to be configured for you to properly telnet to the server?
As far as the telnet program, are you using like, secureCRT or some program like that, or are you just using the built in windows telnet program?
Yep, did this, still no change.
We have an outside vendor that wrote the software that's running so slowly. Perhaps I should give him a call and see if he's seen this before.
