Actualy hit and run is a valid military tactic, special forces use it all the time, over here we call it shoot and scoot.

But in this instance it is just mindless stupidity.

Very true, but I wonder if it was even that involved. Normally if you give someone a device like a RPG launcher or recoilless rifle, you give them some basic instructions on the effective range and how to use the sighting mechanism?

All that seems to be missing here, which leads me to think that kids found a stash and thought they would "play" like their elder siblings? hey, there is enough hatred and indoctrination in their lives, is there not?

...and don't forget that 'hit and run' was the main tactic the americans used against the british during our revolution. im sure the british had some words for it too with some of them usable in mixed company.

Errr...................you are 9 years old, the thing is very heavy, and if an RPG, nose heavy at that.

You have worked out the safety and the trigger (not difficult.................Russian peasants can use them) but the thing wobbles like hell and you cannot aim and fire it steadily..............warships are pretty big, but this is a short range AT weapon we are talking.

In the Falklands campaign Royal Marines damn near took out an Argentinian corvette with two 66mm and one 84mm round.

Typically, a tank is more heavily armoured than a modern warship

That's a surprise to me. I must still be thinking of the WWII ships with inches of armour. I wouldn't have thought a modern ship was so vulnerable.

Two other ships in the falklands (british) are the reason battleships are no longer made from aluminium..
Aluminium just burns (and you won't be able to kill the flames) after being hit by an exocet..

Come on now it's a Act of despiration ..........Katyusha rockets can hardly pose a serious threat to a naval ship.........even provided to strike their intended targets........ At most it could made a Dent or a Big Eye Soaring Scrach on the Ship . :rolleyes:
