Soccer is big over here too and I'd say millions over here will be watching.
I heard about the "World Cup brothel" facility they're building.....pretty cool.

I can never understand the obsession of all those European guys why go to the stadions or are glued to their TV set just to see about two dozens of guys running around behind a ball wearing nothing more than shorts, t-shirts and shoes. True adoration, even. I'd almost dare to say that some soccer-fans are actually deeply in love with their own club and their own favorite players.
But maybe that's why soccer has such a strong attraction for guys. It gives them a chance to become emotional, in a world where men aren't supposed to show their emotions.
And maybe that's also why many women aren't that much interested in soccer. Women deal with their own emotions a lot easier, and often more in public.
I must admit that I am wondering how the Dutch will do in all this, but I have better things to do that watch all these games. :)
Not just Europeans. All the world but USA loves soccer.Quote:

Dunno. Down here its very popular among women too.Quote:

Oh, soccer is real popular amongst women here too. :) But it seems to me that men are far more fanatic about it then women. If you take a look around the soccer-stadions, or inside them, you will notice that the men are a big majority there.
The USA prefers their (American) football. But a football event is more something for the whole family. Men will take their wifes and children to the game.
My bad cacosapo it must have skipped my mind ... They still have one of my fav playersQuote:
I was.
Ronaldhino so it's all good ...
Me I would rather sit there and watch a good soccer game .... Instead of some stupid show like Desperate Housewives or some other dumb reality crap ...Quote:

Also to some people what might be a waste of time just might be something that someone really enjoys and makes them happy and I guess that what counts ...
You'd be surprised how many girls actually like soccer ... Well actually they tend to like the guys more then the game ...Quote:

The whole emotion thing it all depends ... I know some girls that get hysterical and become total drama queens at the drop of a dime ... But it can go both ways ...
Even though I cannot stand any sport, and the thought of watching cissyboy millionaires running around a field playing games is beyond me ..............Quote:
How about we talk about when Pele played as well ...
Even I've heard of Pele, and I even met him when I was in Brazil [Santos / Guaraja 1983]
he was in a restaurant, the others with me recognised him, and we asked the waiter if we could say hello ...........
A VERY nice man, who, I believe, has / had an open door policy on his house for fans.
Wierd really, I live next to Liverpool and Manchester, yet the only footballer I've knowingly shaken hands with was in Brazil
My question for the board ............
WHY do we [England] have a Swede [SGE] as manager ?
there MUST be an englishman who could sleep with as many women as he has :D
man, which country you DONT know? every country that we've mencioned here you already visited. Why? Mariner? 00-Spy :) ?Quote:

But dont offer englishwomen to our guys...
I would have thought that it was pretty obvious why men were interested in football. They play it at school and in the streets/parks when they are young?
Anyway, football is not the most interesting thing in Brasil:

And whilst I am on that subject, here is a link for Gore:

Not really. I couldn't really give a monkeys about football except for nantional matches. However the female work collegue I share an office with is a season ticket holder and share holder in Hearts of Midlothian (Hearts FC aka the Jambos). She also watches, talks and thinks about football most of the day.Quote:

I've got a short attention span and football isn't quick enough for me. I used to like F1 but I prefer to watch Superbikes, MotoGP or Touring cars these days. Basketball is quite good but not on the telly much. God save us from cricket.
Hey Aspman,
I take it you are not interested in ticklets for Scotland v. Holland in the Benson & Hedges Cup then?Quote:
