I have heard about that tool...
I have received version 10 with the renewal\support plan...but have been very hesitant to actually update the current version....from my previous experience :(
I have had no issues with 8.1....unlike the previous versions and the communication/ resource issues........and crashing a Pervasive SQL database app once a day :rolleyes:
I HAD to update to stabilize
All is well...and stable now
Have seen a huge reduction in viruses getting in by filtering\blocking attachments at the front line...Symantec is the second level now.
Its the spyware that is keeping me busy

As I said..I have no issues that require me to update....yet :rolleyes:
I dont like upgrading software on servers.....rememnants hiding in the registry
always try for a clean install

For future reference, here's the answer. There is a tool in the Symantec directory on the management server called iforgot.exe. If you run this on the system it will generate a hash that can be sent to Symantec Support. Support will then turn around the password via email. However, it MUST be called in as a support call. I haven't tried to run a cracker on it, but anything is possible. ;)
