Problem with WinXP and Internet connection

A restore point? How can I do it?

Start > Help and Support > Undo changes to this computer with system restore (on the right hand side)

Well I check my device manager. My devices dirver (RAID) wasn't installed, I don't know if it was a mistake from me in the beggining or this program delete it. But I install it, and everything is ok, but I can't connect to the Internet yet. And in ipconfig /all, I don't even get my gateway IP. Any other advice?

Did you remove the software through Add/Remove or the programs uninstaller, if you used the programs uninstaller, it probably made a mess of your Winsock, try repairing it using LSP fix http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm , for more information on this check out http://windowsxp.mvps.org/winsock.htm :cool:

Why is better uninstall a program with Add/Remove?

What I will do is try to repair the Winsock with WinsockXPFIX and the LSP with LSPFix, later I will tell you what happened ;)

Not nescessarily better, as a matter of fact a 3rd party uninstaller is better, however sometimes when you use a programs uninstaller (depends on the credibility of the program) it may not uninstall everything you need to uninstall, a good example is Kazaa, which leaves a lot of crap after uninstalling.

Most programs that have Spyware are p2p file sharing, and I didn't even see warez p2p on this sites list so I would tend to believe it is infested with spyware.Eric Howes

Also even after removing it through add/remove you should find the folders the program was in and delete.

Have you tried scanning for Spyware/Adware/Malware/Anyware :) Might be a good idea to clean your system out, chances are you have something left over from the removal of warez p2p and it could keep coming back on you unless you get rid of it.

Well I made the restore option and it worked!. Im in Windows again! (Not that I'm proud of it, but I still need windoze for some work)
