I remember a few years back the Church of England bishop of Durham said he did not believe in the virgin birth and Christmas...........................he made #2 on a list with only Salman Rushie (Satanic Verses) above him :D

Actually Maronites (Roman Catholic)http://www.ourladyoflebanon.org/history.htm but still very christian, a lot of people don't realise this and end up lumping the lebanese in with the "Muslims".
I probably should have used Sikh's or Hindu's to make my point instead eh! :p even they respect the christian holidays here in Canada, I think the only naysayers are the suits and ties(beauracrats) who will pander to anyone.

Being on a list with Salman is an accomplishment :p

There are several "eastern orthodox" branches of the RC church. The mass is in their old language, much like we all used to say it in Latin or Greek(ancient).

In London, I was used to celebrating other people's religious festivals, it was just "good manners"?

But a mullah once asked me if I was "A sunni Roman Catholic, or a Shia Roman Catholic", that, I felt, was priceless :D

I really don't see the purpose of this, in fact, I find it to be un-constitutional. It's like saying "It's prohibitted to use the word 'troll' on AO". :-/

Christmas is for the children, most would not know what a holiday tree is nor what holiday it was for.

When I was younger I worked as a waitress. Yes I am saying the politically incorrect term waitress. I worked as a servant waiting on tables.I am not ashamed of that and I will not ever be.

As we grow older many words' meanings change. A good example is gay.When My parents were children gay meant happy and carefree. Today gay means..... well you know what it means.

A green tree that is decorated with presents is what I will always call a Christmas Tree. Most people I know feel the same way. So there are times people take being politically correct much too far!!!!

Raion I am sorry to have to correct you, young man, but that is prohibited.

You must realise that in the context you refer to the correct form is "Troll" (capitalised) if you say troll or trolling, you are referring to a method of fishing for large predators.

Hence: "I took a Troll trolling" would be gramatically correct, and "having given it a quick rub down with a nutmeg grater" would be technically excellent :p :cool: :D

There is nothing wrong with different religions, however, I didn't realize Protestants and Catholics were that much of the majority. We're catering to 24% of the population.

Actually Mathgirl32 it is even worst because I am sure that most of the Jewishs, Muslims, mormons and others dont have any problem with the fact that the season is called Christmas. Stores will do what they think is commercially correct. So if enought people say " I'm not going to do my Christmas shopping in a store that refuses to recognise Christmas." You will see how fast the stores that still support the ban will change to stores that support the ban on the ban.

Haveing said that as long as they dont try to touch St Patricks day
