Ummm, if you updated a lot of your system it sould work fine. You're probably going to have to get newer copies of some of the software though. Though your worries should be on how you're using an OS that no longer gets security fixes.

*™* I don't think running KDE 3.5 or not would be your biggest concern on RH 7.2
As Gore sayd, you shouldn't be using an OS that doesn't get updates and patches anymore..
You might want to move to Fedora Core (the new 'free' RedHat distro)..

Actually Fedora is a horrible distro to recommend in my opinion. Not because it's RedHat, or because it's bleeding edge, but quite simply because out of the box things don't work. There are a few good posts showing why it's not something you want to recommend and countless news stories on people trying it and saying you'd get a good feel for Linux out of it which is wrong because just as an example:
When you update the thing freezes. When you push it during updates, it freezes.... All around I'd only recommend Fedora if and only if, you were a part of RedHat and liked Beta.
If you want an upgrade go for Slackware.
As you know I'm a big slackware fan..
I must admit I never even touched Fedora core.. so I shouldn't be recommending it either..
So yeah.. go browse for a new distro..
And if slackware scares you.. try Ubuntu (which I did try, and even my 12 year old nephew got installed while he couldn't get WindowsXP to install :))

Thankyou both, sorry it took a little while for me to reply.
Anyhow I didn't realise that RedHat7.2 didn't have anymore updates, as i couldn't find anymore and so i thought that there isn't anymore updates needed. :(
So i have backed up all my important stuff, and i had a look at this Slackware that was recommened, and it looks inviting enough so i'm currently downloading one of there builds from the linux iso site.
Thanks

Always remember security updates only stop when a product is no longer supported. If you're installing Slackware for the first time you may want to check out my tutorial as that goes over it pretty well. Just go to my profile and click on "Other tutorials by this user" which is under the pic of me WAY down.
