power point

Please:

1. Start up PowerPoint
2. Create a NEW presentation, and a couple of slides.
3. Save it, exit Power Point, then restart and try to view what you created.

Does that work?

Im not sure what you are attempting to edit on this picture, but keep in mind that any type of pic editing done in pp will be very very limited compared to what you can do with your most basic graphic editing program such as paint. I would be willing to bet that your computer came with paint on it, so i would suggest trying to edit it there first. Just go to Start Menu -> All Programs ->Accessories -> Paint and see if you can get what you need done there.

I gotta agree with the concensus on PP
it is mainly to link a series if images together in a format to make viewing them in a slide show easier

but the original editing would be done by 3rd party S/W

and when you installed the pp, was it a separate operation ? or was it parcelled with the rest of office ?

I got office 2k3 full install, and my PP is basically just allowing me to insert text and imagery into prepared templates ????

Well here is the deal I installed PP with the rest of office....OK cool I will edit with another S/W which is fine.. I can do that but I CAN'T EVEN PUT IT ON THE SLIDE because I already tired like nihil said and NOTHING can't either....the picture is just sort of like a map like a photo which you could find in google earth...So I don't get why i can't put it in a slide show..

How big is the picture? I mean filesize rather than dimensions.

If it's a photo or a scan is could be really large (10mb+). Could it be that PP is taking a long time to import the image?

If that is the case you should edit the image in other software as mentioned (why not download 'The Gimp 2.0' it's free). Make sure that the image at 100% fills the screen and no more. If you look at it at 100% and all you can see is a little corner then you need to reduce the image.

Too many large images in a PP and it'll be unusable.

its also possible that you didn't save the pic correctly and its either A) not bieng read by PP due to unknown file format, or B) you could have saved it as a pic format, but one that PP doesn't happen so support. Again i suggest opening your pic in something else, and then saving it as a bmp or jpg.

Yes I know this thanks, But i did that and it didn't work.. It was originally bmp and it didn't open..Then I changed it to jpg, still didn't work..The file size is not big either..I don't know??So I just decided to do it with adobe photoshop..Thanks guys:-)
