As root, open that in a text editor like Emacs or Vim, and look for the resolution portion. Been a while for me asI haven't installed an OS in almost a month so I'm not positive what part of it it was I edited.
Another thing you could do:
/etc/inittab
Open that up and switch the default run level from 5 to 3 and run Sax2
from root:
sax.sh -l
-Maestr0
Before you went through a re-install did you at least try what I said?

I figured out nothin was workin frm above, so I did a re-install!!

The first time you install linux it usually involves about 3 or 4 reinstalls. :D
I just popped on open Suse 10 with not issues at all. In fact I was going to put it on my lappy this morning and got this message:
"cool computer but you are about to install a 32 bit OS on a 64 bit machine, do you wish to conitune?"
hell no. :p
All this talk of SuSE has gotten me all hot and bothered. I think I'm about to endure the FTP install seeing as I'm all poor and stuff.

Hey, ummm, dude, use the 64 bit version ;) If you bought it it should be there somewhere. They usually include 64 bit and 32 in the box.
gore is right opensuse.org is the ****. Just grab the 5 CD distro. It lacks all the fancy Novell tinkering but it's suse pure and simple. Excellent install too, in fact this distro is a marked improvement over 9x.
Gore dude, I looked all over the distro for the 64 bit packages. nada. Sure I can download them and I have almost done that a few times. But in fact even the store bought 32/64 bit packages are lacking a lot according to suse.com. They have a special DVD version with every single mouth watering 64 bit package included. Can't wait!
I am getting like muerto all bothered, shoot I think I'll run out to compusa. Oh and unlike the redhat open source packages the suse download is pretty fast. F red hat and Yast beats red hat package management any damn way.
With opensuse.org a clean install and good support forum there is NO exCuSe for not having SuSe. MMMMMM SuSe.

Problem is all the retail dvds I searched around here are the enterprise 300 plus dollar version. bummer.Quote:

everything was goin good in Suse, untill I was configuring the Internet!!
In Windows XP, I enter the following things in the TCP/IP properties of my connection:
IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Server Addresses. All the information is with me at present.
Now, How do i configure my internet on Suse, can someone tell, where Do I enter these settings!!
